Continental Congress 2009
I got a call earlier from Delegate Barry Hess telling me he will not be able to attend the CC2209 due to economic factors. This is a blow to the AZ Delegation as Barry is a strong speaker and I was hoping to hear him raise hell. I called Alternate Ralph Luciani and he said he will be reviewing his schedule to see if he can juggle his patients to the weeks prior & after. He wanted to go and speak and it looks like he might get his chance.
We had our weekly meeting at the Freedom's Phoenix Workshop and got to see some of the Phoenix R3VOLUTIONARIES making banners regarding the vaccine - and I mean a LOT of them. Pretty cool. Ralph stopped by and got to meet Sterling Smith the Maricopa County Coordinator.
More communications with Admin have finally gotten them to update the State-specific donations button and I see we have about $150 in the coffer plus what Buck and Jeanne donated. Looks like I might not have to take the bus after all. That really takes a load off my mind.
I state now for the record I don't like the agenda and schedule that is being contemplated. I have let them know exactly how I feel but Admin has been playing their cards extremely close to the chest and uses silence at time to give opposition time to quell. The attempt at steering the Congress in one set direction has me concerned given that I see no time alloted for 'New Items from the Floor' and the topics are spread too generically thin across the duration of the Congress. I have suggested that we use a small amount of time stating for the record the list of what is scheduled and use the bulk of the time for deliberations (which is what this is going to take) - but we'll see where that goes - if it is acknowledged at all.
I need some sleep.
