Accused by the Bush administration of being an Iraqi "unregistered agent", Lindauer suffered through years of legal wrangling and what could be considered psychological torture as the administration made every effort to keep her quiet regarding the intelligence opinions she offered about pre-war Iraq. On January 15th, 2009 charges were suddenly dropped.
